A while ago Eli requested a robot t-shirt. Hmmm. There were plenty of robot t-shirts in the store, but they all seemed a little babyish with dorky colorful robot appliques. Eli wanted cool robots. I came across cool robot knit fabric on line, or at least that's what I thought. But when it finally arrived in the mail, I realized that the robots were taking over the world. They were not very happy robots. It wasn't too bad, however, there also two weird pink creatures pointing big guns.
Since we are generally a peace loving family I thought it would be an inappropriate design for a five year old. I put it on the shelf, but it kept bothering me. What could possibly be made out of it? Well, a crib sheet, of course.
Totally appropriate! Well, maybe not, but it makes me smile every time I look at it. I used this tutorial to make it http://www.danamadeit.com/2008/07/tutorial-crib-and-toddler-bed-sheets.html It is really easy, even for somebody with minimal sewing skills. And it takes less than half an hour to make. I see more crib sheets in my future.
