I had this awesome Kokka fabric for a while. I absolutely love the print. It seems directional, but it's not. It's a carnival with people and things right side up and upside down.
It fits my daughter's goofy personality perfectly! Now, let's talk about the pants. I can call them knocking off a knock off. :) I have wanted to make them since I saw this awesome creation made by Mie of Sewing Like Mad. (If you are not familiar with her blog, pay her a visit. She makes such bright and colorful clothes for her daughter. It's just a happy place to go)The pants go well with the theme and the overall look I was trying to achieve.
I measured and re-measured and cut my pieces and put them together. To my great astonishment everything matched up! Ania came from pre school and I couldn't wait to put them on her. Except, they wouldn't go past her knees. What? Oh, yeah, I forgot to add seam allowances. Apparently, they are kind of necessary. Dah! So I cut the side panels off and made they wider. I still like them, though I liked the original look even better. Also they were a little too long on Ania, so I had to re-hem them.
Overall, I am happy with how they turned out. Don't they look avant-garde. :)
Ania loves her new outfit!
Those pants are awesome! I want a pair for myself.
