Pretty in Peplum Shirt and Kudzu Pants

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you had a relaxing break! My first post this year is not about something I made this year. As a matter of fact, I made the pants in August and wouldn't let Ania wear them because I wanted to make a shirt to go with the pants. Good thing I did, I love the pants and if I waited any longer, they would have been too small. Oops.

I LOVE both patterns I used. I received both patterns for free, but I hope you know that I am honest. :) Let's discuss the pants first.
Pattern: The Kudzu pants by Charming Doodle for Willow &Co. I can't say enough about this pattern. The fit is perfect. Nothing bunches up, the rise is just right. They look awesome and are very comfortable to wear. Ania loves them. Also, if you skip the pockets, they are very fast to make.
Fabric: Stretchy denim from Jo-Anns. I got it on clearance for a ridiculously cheap price. I wish I got more for myself.

The shirt is a tad big on Ania. I made it when she was in school. I couldn't find her measurements, so I just guessed the size. She is growing so fast, it already fits much better, even though I made it about a month ago. It's a light blue color and really goes well with pretty much everything in her wardrobe. On a side note, doesn't she look 15 in this picture. Waaahhhh. My baby is growing up so fast!
Pattern: Pretty in Peplum by Sew Much Ado. The pattern is very well done. I especially like that Abby marked a line on the pattern where to cut if you want to lengthen it. Ania is very tall for her age, so I pretty much add length to everything I make for her. The instructions are very straightforward and easy to understand. It really comes together fast. The only change I made was the addition of the yellow piping. I like the pop of color it adds. The word on piping. I would use knit or make a shirt a size bigger, if you decide to add piping. I think if it was the right size, she would have hard time putting it on.
Fabric:  Medium weight knit I found in my stash. I think I got it at a garage sale.

Ania is quite happy with her new outfit. I like it too quite a bit. The best part it cost me less then $5.00. Happy sewing!
