Audrey of Skirt Fixation asked met to participate in her fabric tour. She made my Eleena dress with the fabric and I fell in love with it. The fabric is even more beautiful in real life, there is certain depth and dimension to it. I chose organic interlock and was pleasantly surprised by the great quality of the fabric. It's really superb, nice to touch, nice stretch recovery and not too thick. I highly recommend it! You can purchase the fabric here. It's printed on demand and you can choose the type of fabric you want. The variety is really great, check it out here!

I used The Cocoon Dress pattern by Groovy Baby and Mama. I wanted to try it for a long time, and I think the fabric is perfect for it. I made size 8 with size 10 length, and I should have just kept size 8 length. I think it's a touch too long for the shape.
The dress can be made with or without a frill at the shoulder. It's a very quick, project and easy project.
The pattern's instructions suggest turning the neckline seam allowances and stitching them down. I added binding to mine, partly because I prefer the look, and partly because my sewing machine doesn't handle knits well and I was concerned that it would make a total and complete mess. I also made the frill double layered to hide the raw edges.
The other change I made was to the sleeve. The sleeve has little ease built in, so after measuring, I realized that size 10 sleeve would be a great fit. I love the high/low hem feature of the dress, I think it goes well with the cocoon shape.
A view from the back.
And off she goes! Thank you so much Audrey for inviting me! I really love the fabric!
