A while ago Eva of With Love by Eva contacted me to test the English version of the Tulip Dress pattern that was fist released in Dutch. I saw a few super cute version on Instagram and I just loved the design. It's so clever and pretty. Even though, I was busy with other things, I just couldn't say no.
The pattern didn't disappoint, the dress turned out just how I wanted. I made size 4 according to the measurements, and the fit is spot on. The pattern pieces came together beautifully, and I just had a few very minor suggestions. The instructions are very well done and are easy to follow. I had no issues putting it together. I will definitely be making more. As a matter of fact I already made another one, just like this one for my friend's daughter.
The fabric came from my stash. The tulip design is from viscose remnant I bought on my trip to Ukraine. It was something like a quarter and I just couldn't pass it. The main fabric was a giant pillow case from IKEA. I have no idea why I had it or when I bought it. lol But it was a match made in heaven so it had to happen. I just had enough fabric for the dress. Phew.
I love the shape of the dress. There is just the right amount of gathers. It's not too puffy and drapes beautifully.
It will be perfect for fall too, since there are no sleeves it's easy to either add a cardigan or a shirt underneath. Evelyn absolutely adores her dress and has been wearing it non-stop since I made it. I had to hide it, so I could wash it.
She is such a firecracker!
Thank you so much Eva and Katrien for inviting me to be on this tour. I really enjoyed the pattern.
