It's my turn for the Petit a Petit patterns tour, the block party. So many other uber talented bloggers are participating! I am honored to be in such great company. Celina's patterns are really well made. They are as good as it gets. She has great instructions and finishing techniques as well. If you are looking for quality patterns, check them out!
For the tour I made the Morocco pants and the Tip Top Dress in tunic length. I was feeling blue, in a good way, and decided to use denim for the all the pieces. I have always liked denim on denim look, when it's not over the top. I am pleased how it turned out.

The Tip Top pattern has quite a few options to choose from. It comes in three different length, with pleated or gathered neckline and two different options for the bodice pieces. I choose the one that comes as one piece, but there is also a paneled option with inseam welt pockets. There is even hem facings, which gives you an option to have a wide hem. Unfortunately, I ran out of fabric and made a narrow hem instead.
The swirl factor is crazy good! It does use quite a bit of fabric, especially in larger sizes, but if you have a twirl lover, it's worth it. The construction is not very difficult. I did struggle with the puckering while finishing the neckline with the bias tape, but I think it was my unfortunate choice for the bias tape. I made it from the same fabric and it was a bit thick. The fabric is from my stash. I bought it at the garage sale, and it screamed 80s. It was very light denim with crinkly/wrinkled effect. I am pretty sure I had a top from similar fabric when I was a kid. At first I chuckled, but then decided that if I wash it and steam the wrinkles out, it might be quite cool. It worked! I already used it here!
The Morocco pants are really cool and the pattern offers a gazillion different options! I chose the easiest one - elastic back, faux fly and just the flaps, no actual pockets. I really love the tuxedo detail. The fabric is also from my stash. I had different plans for it originally, but the it just seemed perfect for the pants. I used the wrong side of the fabric for the details.
Ania loves her new outfit. She wore the pants a few times already. It's a bit too cold for the top, but I am sure it will get plenty of wear in the spring.
