Skirt Week

We decided to play along at the awesome Skirt Week series at Crafterhours. It will run through June 7th, with many great guest posts and tutorials. They also have a Flickr group with all kinds of creations.  Here is our entry brought to you by Oksana.

The fabric used for the skirt is Armani tweed picked up on a trip to NY. The fabric is"laced" with the  snake like leather tape. The texture of the fabric is incredible!

The design and execution is mine. The skirt is fitted with high waistband and double vents.

I decided to create side darts to add interest to the front of the skirt. Boning was added to hold the shape and prevent wrinkles at the waist.

I love the results - it is dressy enough to wear to a special occasion, yet also appropriate for the day in the office.
