Not Just a Sunsuit Pattern Tour

I am part of the pattern tour for the Paneled Sunsuit by Call Ajaire. This is Ajaire's first pattern and I was happy she sent it to me. She was probably the first blogger I interacted when I started blogging, which means we go way back in the blogging world. The pattern was easy to work with - all the necessary notches were there, and the instructions were very easy to follow.

The pattern has quite a few options to choose from - a jumpsuit, pants, shorts, skirt and maxi skirt. I chose to make pants since summer will be over in a blink of an eye here, and they will transition well into fall. The pants are loose fitting with an elastic waistband and side pockets. They are very easy to sew and suitable for a beginner. I made size 10 according to Ania's measurements, but will probably make size 8 next time.

The top has no closures and it is a very fast sew. It was a bit too large on Ania, so I would definitely size down next time.  I skipped the elastic in the back and added a contrasting band to the hem. I wanted it longer and didn't have enough of the floral fabric. The fabric came from my stash. The polka dot linen blend was form JoAnns, I think. I can't quite remember now. The gorgeous floral is Budquette Nightfall by Art Gallery fabrics. It might be my favorite floral ever. I had a small remnant left from sewing the Antalya for the Willow & Co lookbook.

"Would you like me to turn you into a Princess or a toad," she asks. Hmm, tough call.

I really like the "scrunchy" shoulder straps. I think it's a fun detail.

The sun suit was playground tested and passed with flying colors. Thank you Ajaire for having me on the tour. Check out all the great participants! The Paneled Sunsuit is on sale and can be purchased HERE.

  1. The fabric combo is so good! I love the band at the bottom of the cropped tank too. It shows of the floral in such a lovely way. The trousers are definitely a baggy style when not attached to the bodice as a jumpsuit so I can totally see sizing down. They look great!

  3. This is such a lovely and elegant outfit! She wears it well. And that fabric is beautiful -- I love how you put the panel on the bottom. I'm going to have to borrow that idea ;)
