Fit and Bloom Fabric Tour

I am excited to kick off a Fit and Bloom fabric tour. The line was designed by Patty Young for Riley Blake fabrics. I got the privilege to work with two  selections and I am very pleased with the results.

I went all romantic with my pieces I made and my girls were quite happy with the results.

Ania's top is made with Bloom Geo Blossom fabric in grey colorway. The pattern is something I drafted and now I am wondering if I should grade and make it available. This is the first option that I had in mind.

It's a sweet blouse with pintucks at the shoulder and slightly an A-line silhouette. The ties in front are removable, but can be made permanent as well. I will change the pintuck placements a bit if I decide to go for it.

The fabric is quilting cotton and often it's not my first choice when sewing garments. But it's very very soft and pleasant to work with and wear.

She is into posing lately.

I used the Polina dress pattern to make a super girly and twirly dress for Evelyn. I knew she would love it.  The fabric I used is Bloom Scalloped Dot in grey colorway. I really like it! It's so soft!

Check out the twirl action! Unlike her sister she loves twirly dresses.

Instead of lining the frill I finished it with lace. I don't usually use lace, but I have yards of lace that was gifted to me and I thought this was an appropriate opportunity. It was a bit fussy to do it and I had to baste the it first, but int he end it all worked out! I used flared ties option for the dress. I think it goes well here.

I really do love how it turned out, fits with her girly taste. :)

Best buddies! The fabric line is great for kid sewing. Check the whole line is here.
